MIXCHEM wants to ensure an inclusive and stimulating educational environment where all members feel supported, respected, and safe, including but not limited to age, race, ethnicity, culture, sexual and gender identity, religion, ability, and socioeconomic status. MIXCHEM believes that diversity of thoughts, experiences, and perspectives drives scientific excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
To eliminate barriers to full participation and promote equal opportunities for learning, professional development, and contribution within our network, MIXCHEM recognizes the importance of awareness and education and invites its community to ongoing effort to be more inclusive.

To this end, MIXCHEM is undertaking various actions, such as:

  • official communications in French and English, using gender-neutral language;
  • encouraging the production of visual aids in English for research presentations in French and vice versa;
  • the provision of simultaneous transcription and translation during seminars and workshops;
  • coverage of travel and accommodation expenses for events organized exclusively by MIXCHEM (annual retreats and symposium, workshops, etc.).

As all MIXCHEM members must commit to better understanding the principles and issues of DEIA, MIXCHEM provides its community with a non-exhaustive list of resources.
