Doctor performing minimally invasive surgery

Who We Are

Administrative Structure

The minimally invasive surgery program is a multidisciplinary program charged with coordinating the clinical activities, resources, research and education across surgical specialties at the McGill University Health Centre, and advising other McGill teaching hospitals when asked.

The Steinberg-Bernstein Centre for Minimally Invasive Surgery was established at the Montreal General Hospital by a generous endowment from Florenz Steinberg Bernstein in 1995. Resources from this endowment have been used to establish an endowed chair in MIS and Innovation at the McGill University Health Centre. It has also supported faculty development and the establishment of a physical identity for the MIS program at McGill.

MIS Centre Director: Liane S. Feldman, MD
MIS Fellowship Program Director: Liane S. Feldman, MD
MIS Program Coordinator: Pepa Kaneva, MSc
Administrative Assistant to MIS Program: Maria Cortese

The success of the program is the result of the collegial collaboration of a number of surgeons, nurses, affiliated research scientists and excellent support from the Audiovisual Department, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Management, and the organizational skills of Maria Cortese, our Administrative Assistant.
