Electroacoustic Zeta Potential Analyzer

PartikelAnalytik, Field ESA

Particles inside a solution will obtain surface charge via various mechanisms. Zeta potential is defined as the electrical potential at the electrical double layer. It can be used to explain weather a reagent is adsorbed on mineral surface. This equipment uses electroacoustic technique to analyse zeta potential. Two types of cells are available with different volumes (50 mL and 150 mL). The suspension is prepared with a 1-40% ww solid content. The addition of chemical reagent and change on pH are done automatically by program which can be adjusted based on need.

Electrophoretic Zeta Potential Analyzer

Brookhaven Instruments, 90 Plus NanoBrook Zeta

Unlike the electroacoustic one, an electrophoretic analyzer uses a light source (laser) to analyze zeta potential. The suspension is prepared at a much lower solid content (~0.05% ww). The reagent is added while conditioning, and pH is manually changed during test.
