Connect and login

Accessing Banner at McGill is an essential part of administrative work, and this page is to help make that process clear and effortless for all users. Whether you are connecting to Banner Admin Pages (Banner 9) or using Banner INB Forms (Banner 8), the steps below walk you through exactly what you need to do, regardless of your device or technical comfort level.

Windows Login

Banner Admin Pages (Banner 9)

  1. Go to: Banner Admin Pages
  2. Sign in with your McGill credentials: firstname.lastname [at] mcgill.ca

Tip: If you’re off campus, you may need the McGill VPN.

Banner INB Forms (Banner 8)

Step 1: Get the Banner INB connection file.

Choose the option that matches your device.

Option A: McGill managed Windows computer (Windows 11+)

  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Search for Work Resources
  3. Open Banner INB Prod
  4. Open the Banner INB connection file you find there (sometimes called an RDP file). This launches Banner INB.

Option B: Any Windows computer (Windows 11+)

  1. Go to RD Web.
  2. Sign in with your McGill credentials: firstname.lastname [at] mcgill.ca
  3. Open the folder: Banner INB Prod
  4. Click Banner INB Prod to download the connection file (sometimes called an RDP file).
  5. Open the downloaded connection file to launch Banner INB.

Step 2: Sign in to Banner INB
When the Banner login window appears (Username / Password / Database):

  1. Enter your Banner ID and Banner password (these are different from your regular McGill username and password).
  2. In Database, enter banner (most users).
  3. Select Connect.

Mac Login

Banner Admin Pages (Banner 9)

  1. Go to: Banner Admin Pages
  2. Sign in with your McGill credentials: firstname.lastname [at] mcgill.ca

Banner INB Forms (Banner 8)

Step 1: Get the Banner INB connection file

  1. Install Windows App from the Apple App Store.
  2. Go to RD Web.
  3. Sign in with your McGill credentials: firstname.lastname [at] mcgill.ca
  4. Open the folder: Banner INB Prod
  5. Click Banner INB Prod to download the .rdp file
  6. Open the downloaded connection file using Windows App to launch Banner INB.

Step 2: Sign in to Banner INB

When the Banner login window appears (Username / Password / Database):

  1. Enter your Banner ID and Banner password (these are different from your regular McGill username and password).
  2. In Database, enter banner (most users).
  3. Select Connect.
