Attract Readers with Effective Images and Captions

This workshop is designed to teach you how to attract and maintain the attention of readers in primarily STEM disciplines with effective images and image captions.   

Participate in this 2-hour interactive workshop and you will engage in the following activities:

  • evaluate the visual and expressive impact of images and image captions
  • practice improving images and image captions to attract readers to your work


Please come to the workshop with:

  • an image for a project you are working on
  • a sample TOC (Table of Contents) graphic or figure from a journal you want to publish in

 

Dr. T. Christopher Corkery has worked in science and research communication for fifteen years.  He is currently the Chief Project Engineer of a start-up that makes medical devices for use on the International Space Station.

The workshop will be held on McGill's downtown campus on Friday April 13, from 10am to 12pm.  Registrants will receive the workshop location in a confirmation email.
