Telling Research Stories: Using Narrative in Scholarly Writing

All research tells a story about events, people, phenomena, what they do, and what happens to them.  Effective scholarly writers learn to use the elements of narrative to tell these stories and communicate their research compellingly to colleagues, scholars in related fields, and the broader public.  What's your story?

Participate in this 2-hour workshop and you will:

  • Learn about the elements of scholarly narrative
  • See how narrative can communicate research findings
  • Practice using narrative to frame and explain your own research projects

Dr. Richard R. Cooper, an experienced scholar, writer, translator, editor, and teacher of writing, will lead the workshop.
