Mapping Radical Ecologies: Paper Places Workshop

Tuesday, July 31, 2018 12:00to14:00

On July 31 from 12:00-14:00, Alex Megelas and Shane Watt will be joining us in the Garden as part of the Free Skool Initiative, to host a Paper Places workshop. These workshops consider maps as a site of ecological resistance. All are welcome!

The focus of the “Paper Places” workshops is to introduce participants to mapmaking as a means of interpreting public spaces and the commons. Participants are encouraged to use artistic creation in order to recognize and explore physical locales in the world. The workshop encourages participants to integrate art as part of a daily process of creativity and consider the extent to which it furthers self-reflection.

The garden is located behind the McGill Coach House, north of the Faculty of Education at 3700 McTavish.

Paper Places is a collaboration between visual artist Shane Watt and educator Alex Megelas.
