Dr. Sasha Bernatsky and Dr. Evelyne Vinet serve as the co-directors of McGill Lupus Research Clinic Biobank, located at the Montreal General Hospital. This clinic is renowned for treating Canada’s second largest population of lupus patients. Over the past three decades, the clinic has collected data on more than 900 subjects. Participants undergo annual assessments to monitor disease outcomes which has resulted in one of the world’s most robust and best developed clinical SLE research registries. Numerous original observational and clinical research studies have originated from the clinic. These include large scale international projects that focus on SLE activity, organ damage, and comorbidity affect adherence, drug safety, cancer risk, reproductive outcomes, resource use, and mortality.
