Biography: 

John Allaster is a Ph.D candidate in English Literature at McGill University. His dissertation focuses on the influence of Chinese poetry on several modernist poets, including the Imagists, William Carlos Williams, Mina Loy, H.D., T.S. Eliot, and Wallace Stevens. His dissertation, in particular, examines the incorporation of the concept and aesthetic of dynamic emptiness ( 空 ) into their respective poetic practices.
