Biography: 

Dr. Robert Kiss is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at McGill University and a researcher in the Division of Cardiology at the MUHC. He completed his PhD at the University of Alberta under Dr. Robert Ryan, studying the structure-function relationship of apolipoprotein A-I, followed by postdoctoral training at the Ottawa Heart Institute under Dr. Yves Marcel, where he studied ABCA1 and novel mechanisms of intracellular cholesterol trafficking. He joined McGill University in 2006. His research focuses on how the body generates HDL, the so-called "good cholesterol", examining how cells produce HDL and transport cholesterol into it, with the goal of understanding and preventing heart attacks.
