On September 18, nearly 200 colleagues came together at the Passerelle–Perspective in Montréal’s Old Port for our Annual Awards Soirée, this year centered on the theme “Moments That Matter.”
We heard moving reflections from our leaders, Dr. Marc Rodger (Chair of the McGill Department of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief of the MUHC), Dr. Vicky Tagalakis (Associate Chair of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief of the Jewish General Hospital), Dr. Bruce Campbell (Physician-in-Chief of St. Mary’s Hospital), and Dr. Lucie Opatrny (President and Executive Director of the MUHC), each recalling their student days and highlighting the moments that mattered to them, moments that continue to shape their leadership and guide our department today.
The evening also featured the presentation of the 2025 DOM Awards, celebrating the outstanding contributions of our faculty and trainees. Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients, your achievements continue to inspire and set a strong example for our community. Guests also had the chance to capture memories at the Moments That Matter photobook; a scanned album of the polaroid pages is available here.
Attendees left with DOM-branded tote bags and wellness kits, along with a lifetime subscription to the Breethe wellness app, made possible thanks to the generosity of its McGill alumnus co-founder, Garner Bornstein, and the dedication of our Wellness Team, Dana Ajjaoui and Dr. Kevin Waschke.
