Matthieu Allez

He is in Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a member of the MUHC Research Institute. He holds the Bruce Kaufman McGill IBD Research Chair. Dr. Allez completed his residency training in gastroenterology at Université de Paris. He spent two years for a post-doc at Mount Sinai in NY. He was Chief of Gastroenterology at Hopital St Louis in Paris.

His focus in basic research has been in mucosal immunology and immunopathology of inflammatory bowel disease, and more specifically on the role of T cells in mucosal inflammation. He is developing and leading the McGill translational research program in IBD.
