We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kevin Schwartzman has been appointed as the McGill Department of Medicine Associate Chair of Research effective July 1st, 2023. Dr. Schwartzman will focus on 1) Clinician Scientist/Translational PhD Scientist capacity building through pipeline support programs and recruitment, 2) growth in DOM research publications/impact and grant funding and 3) identifying, supporting and growing our world class teams, as we aspire to become the most research-intensive DOM in Canada.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Schwartzman for his exemplary leadership of the Division of Respiratory Medicine for the last 10 years. He grew the Division’s already stellar clinical, teaching and research programs despite the challenges of relocating to the Glen and the pandemic. He played a lead role in the early days of the MUHC’s pandemic response. Throughout he led by example, and is/was a role model of collegiality, professionalism, and dedication to McGill and the MUHC.
