We’re proud to highlight the important work of Dr. Claire Godard-Sebillotte, recently featured in The Montreal Gazette. Dr. Godard-Sebillotte, assistant professor in the Division of Geriatrics and geriatrician at the Montreal General Hospital, co-led a study on how socioeconomic status affects dementia care in Quebec. The findings reveal systematic differences in mortality, hospitalization, ED visits, potentially inappropriate medication use, and cognition specialist referrals, alluding to potential pervasive inequities.
This impactful research has informed Quebec’s new Alzheimer’s Ministerial policy, one of the key pillars of which is to reduce these inequities. Read more.
