This is an update on the situation shared in recent announcements to the McGill community related to the availability of key computer components. It has become increasingly difficult to purchase computer equipment. Manufacturers across the industry are facing significant constraints as increased demand from large cloud infrastructure providers is affecting the global supply chain.

Following the undernoted memo, the Tri-Agency Response Implementation Group (TRIG) continues to address Tri-Agency recommendations. With respect to Purchase Requisitions, Tri-Agency recommended the removal of automatic approval of Purchase Requisitions less than $1,000.
