Specialty degrees are a fast-growing segment of graduate business education, targeting undergraduates who lack the academic prerequisites or work experience (or both) typically required for a traditional master of business administration program.
There may soon be a new talent pool for Canadian financial planners and advisors to dip into when they are looking for new recruits.
That’s because McGill University in Montreal has launched a new Masters of Management in Finance course, which will run for 12months. To be part of the Desautels Faculty of Management, the course is meant to give students vital preparation ahead of a career in a host of financial sectors ranging from financial consulting to asset management, risk management and corporate finance.
