Faculty of Education’s Prof. Roy Lyster delivers Distinguished and Professional Development Lectures in Hong Kong
It was a successful turn out for the McGill Faculty of Education’s first Distinguished Public Lecture and Professional Development Lecture Series made possible by a generous donation from the Hong Kong based WYNG Foundation. This event took place on May 13, 2017 at The First Commercial Building, in Hong Kong.
Classrooms that encourage competition between students may inadvertently be creating settings where bullying is more likely to take place. That’s one of the conclusions that can be drawn from work led by McGill University researchers Maria Di Stasio and Robert Savage, who recently published a paper on the subject in the Journal of Adolescence. But it’s only part of the story.
Café Collab is a collaborative partnership with the Participatory Cultures Laboratory, situated within the Institute for Human Development and Well-Being (IHDW) at McGill's Faculty of Education; and McGill's Social Equity and Diversity Education Office (SEDE). After their first year in action, Café Collab held its culminative event in the SSMU Building.
McGill’s Faculty of Education and Education University of Hong Kong’s initial visiting scholars exchange program proves a glowing success
In partnership with the Hong Kong based WYNG Foundation, the Faculty of Education at McGill University and the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) recently participated in a successful visiting scholars exchange program. McGill University's Faculty of Education is glad to announce that Professor Lindsay Duncan, of our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, has received recognition as a William Dawson Scholar. This esteemed internal recognition is conferred by the university upon "a scholar developing into an outstanding and original researcher of world-class caliber who is poised to become a leader in his or her field, similar to that of a CRC Tier 2 chair holder," and is effective from May 1, 2017.

Alumnus of McGill's Faculty of Education John Parisella (MA’71, DipEd’73) received the Order of Canada last week for his “social, political, diplomatic and academic engagement and for his dedication to major governance issues." The Order of Canada is the nation's second highest civilian honour within the country's system of honours.
