The upcoming event, Game Over: When Video Games Become a Problem featuring guest speaker Cam Adair, is getting some media buzz. Early Childhood Symposium 2020 (February 11 & 12, 2020) will feature two McGill Education speakers: Dr. Sheryl Smith-Gilman will give the Opening Plenary as Keynote Speaker and Dr. Tina Montreuil will lead the workshop "Healthy Minds, Healthy Schools & Resilience Building in Children: Preliminary Outcomes". The Department of Integrated Studies in Education's Dr. Allison Gonsalves was asked to speak at McGill's December 6th event honouring the memory of the victims of the Polytechnique Massacre; the 30th anniversary of the tragedy and the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Steve Jordan was presented with the ARNA 2019 Social Justice Award at the recent ARNA Conference, held at McGill's Faculty of Education, June 26 to 28, 2019.

Nearly 60 Cree students their graduation from McGill University's Faculty of Education this past Saturday in Pikogan, Quebec. Our Office of First Nations and Inuit Education offers full-time and part-time teacher certification programs in Cree and Inuit communities in Quebec as well as in Kahnawake and Listuguj. Even though these students may be far away off campus, they are an important part of our Faculty and the McGill community. CBC's Susan Bell covered the story.
