McGill raises Peerless Cup as first ever Canadian MBA soccer champions

Published: 23 May 2004

McGill raised the Peerless Cup as the first ever Canadian MBA soccer champions when they beat Molson (Concordia) on penalties (6-5) after a tightly contested match that saw both teams goalless after regulation time. In the 3rd place final, Rotman (University of Toronto) beat HEC on penalties after tying 1-1 in regulation time.

This was the first year for this event, and by all accounts it was a resounding success. We look forward to an expanded tournament next year, with more drama and excitement.

Special thanks to our sponsors: Peerless Clothing, for their continued support, and the McGill Faculty of Management and Gildan Activewear for helping to make this happen.

Thanks to all teams involved. We look forward to hosting you again next year. Finally, a special thanks to all the volunteers who helped in organizing the event.
