New and modernized facilities provide the best environment for healthcare professionals

People interested in a career in health care are invited to attend the first ever McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Career Day on November 14 from 11 am to 4 p.m. The event, which brings together job seekers and students, as well as MUHC healthcare professionals, will take place at three MUHC sites: the Montreal General Hospital, the Montreal Children’s Hospital, and the Lachine Campus. It’s an ideal time to go behind the scenes of one of Canada’s largest and most respected teaching and research hospitals.

Take a tour and have your questions answered

Career Day can be used as a practical information session, or a pro-active job search. The MUHC has positions available for nurses, allied-health professionals and medical technologists, to name a few.  “This is the first time the MUHC has organized a Career Day to give people the chance to learn about the many rewarding careers we have to offer at all our sites,” says Stella Lopreste, Director of Human Resources. “Health professionals and recruitment officers from departments throughout the MUHC will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.  This is your chance to come interview us. Many jobs are open right now, so people should bring their CV’s and take a guided tour of our hospitals.”

New facilities make the working environment better than ever

“Now is a great time to join our team,” says the Hon. Arthur T. Porter, Director General and CEO of the MUHC. “The McGill University Health Centre’s new $2.2 billion hospital campuses will provide our staff with the best, most innovative environment for patient and family-centred care.  Our single patient rooms, new and modernized facilities and the latest equipment will make the new MUHC one of the best hospitals to work at in North America. Construction of the new hospital at the Glen Campus starts in December.”

MUHC recently named one of Montreal’s Top 15 employers

This year the MUHC was named one of Montreal’s Top 15 Employers for the third consecutive year. The judges of Mediacorp’s annual competition said the MUHC “offers an incredible range of career opportunities at multiple locations across the city.” The MUHC was also applauded for its flexible working schedules, bilingual working environment and ongoing education for employees.
