Behind Every Great Tree ... Celebrating 160 Years of McGill Garden Masters
Starting point: Steps of Redpath Museum (includes booklet: A Leafy Legacy: The Trees of McGill University)
As the saying goes: behind every great person, is a great partner. Much the same may be said about the great trees of the downtown campus of McGill University. From the first elms planted by Sir William Dawson in 1855, to (first botany professor) David Penhallow's phantom ginkgo, to the bald cypress planted recently by McGill horticulturalist Eric Champagne, the campus has never lacked for adventurous landscapers. This year, the McGill homecoming tree tour will be a walk through the botanical history of the campus.

To register for all tree tours, please contact Bronwyn Chester at 514-284-7384 or email bronwynchester [at] gmail.com. $12 each.
