Montreal Neurological Institute 3801 rue University, Montreal, QC, H3A 2B4, CA

Our next film is THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY.  It is the remarkable true story of Jean-Dominique Bauby (Mathieu Amalric), a successful and charismatic editor-in-chief of French Elle, who believes he is living his life to its absolute fullest when a sudden stroke leaves him in a life-altered state. While the physical challenges of Bauby's fate leave him with little hope for the future, he begins to discover how his life's passions, his rich memories and his newfound imagination can help him achieve a life without boundaries.

"The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" will be hosted by Liam Durcan. Dr. Durcan was trained at the University of Manitoba and McGill University and is currently the Neurologist-in-Chief at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. Aside from practicing medicine, he also writes and has had two books of fiction published (A Short Journey by Car--2004 and Garcia's Heart--2007).

Neuro Movie Nights are free and snacks can be purchased (including wraps and popcorn!).

The film will be shown with French sub-titles.
