Carl Pilcher, PhD, director, NASA Astrobiology Institute, Ames Research Center, CA. Dr. Pilcher will address the scientific foundations of astrobiology, emphasizing the different disciplines that are engaged in the search for life in the universe. He will explain how the NASA Astrobiology Institute addresses the challenges of bringing the disciplines together and focus on some recent science results and collaborations with McGill and other Canadian scientists on research in the Canadian High Arctic.
