8th annual Rethink conference: sustainability+education
October 22, 2009. The Sub-Committee on Environment will hold its eighth annual Rethink conference, which traditionally aims to provide the community with information on environmental initiatives on campus by students and the administration, as well as an opportunity to provide suggestions on priority environmental projects to be addressed. Focus this year will be on education and sustainability.
Keynote speaker: John Spengler, Akira Yamaguchi Professor of Health and Human Habitation, Harvard School of Public Health
With presentations by McGill faculty, students and staff.
Questions to be addressed:
- How does the University address its role/responsibility in education for sustainability?
- How can professors become more sustainable in the practice of their vocation?
- How does the University community integrate education for sustainability in its programs?
In accordance with McGill’s environmental policy, the Conference serves to increase the University community's awareness of environmental issues, by fostering the appropriate values, knowledge, and skills to enable us to work towards the restoration and preservation of the Environment.

COST: FREE
CANCELLATION POLICY: Participants are requested to
notify us of cancellations by 48 hours prior to the event. A
penalty would otherwise be levied for no-shows to cover the cost of
refreshments.
