COVID-19: Faculty of Medicine Update 2020/03/14 - Status

Published: 14 March 2020

To all members of the Faculty, including all learners and staff,

As we are all acutely aware, the COVID-19 outbreak and the provincial and federal governments’ responses are continually evolving. On Friday, March 13, the Quebec government held a press conference announcing the closure of schools, universities and daycares, while the federal government updated the country on its measures. The implications of the Quebec announcement are being assessed in detail; more information will be issued University-wide via your mcgill.ca address over the weekend.

In the interim, I would like to express my deep appreciation of your collective efforts to help slow COVID-19, to “flatten the curve.” By respecting the directives already announced and exercising good judgment, we can influence the outcome and protect both our health care system and our communities. Thank you.

David Eidelman, MDCM
Vice-Principal (Health Affairs)
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine

If you need to self-isolate, immediately inform your department head, program director or supervisor.
