Hirsh Rosenfeld Public Lecture with Justin Sanders: Relationships in Serious Illness and How to Build Them

Tuesday, May 2, 2023 19:00to20:30
Price:
Free

A fundamental principle of palliative care is that healing is possible through the course of serious illness, up until and beyond the time that one dies. Healing in this sense refers to an experience of integrity and growth that can occur along with and in spite of the functional decline that characterizes serious illness. Relationships - between clinicians and patients, between patients and their caregivers - are essential to healing, yet healthcare systems pay little attention to them. Come to the Hirsh Rosenfeld Lecture to learn about how we strengthen healthcare systems for those who need them most by attending to the relationships within them.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 2, from 7.00 p.m to 8.30 p.m.

WHERE: hybrid | 5858, Côte-des-Neiges Road, 3rd floor; Zoom.

Light snacks and refreshments will be served from 6.00 p.m.

This event is a collaboration between the Department of Family Medicine and the St. James Literary Society.
