The Centre for Research on Brain, Language and Music – CRBLM – is a strategic research group with a unique interdisciplinary focus on language, music, and their intersection. The CRBLM represents a novel and innovative integration of researchers with interdependent but complementary expertise from diverse disciplines focused on the unique neurobiological and social endowments of language and music.
CRBLM’s daily activities are overseen by the staff, including the Coordinator, Scientific liaison, and Technical liaison, as well as part-time student employees. Our Executive Committee (Director, Axis leaders and Cross-axis committee) is intentionally representative of all participating institutions, as is our Student Engagement Committee, thus ensuring coordination between sites and universities. These report to the Governing Board, comprised of designates of partner institutions, community and industry advisees. To keep us at the forefront of research in the field, we have a Scientific Advisory Board composed of leading international researchers (Aniruddh Patel, Julie Fiez, Jenny Saffran, et Greg Hickok) who work with us on strategic directions within and across axes.
Our Annual General Meeting at our Scientific Day introduces new recruits to the membership and is an opportunity for feedback and brainstorming with all our members.
