• Basic recruitment costs (i.e. identification and consenting of patients, blood collection, database creation) will initially be covered through existing funds.
  • Funding from philanthropy is presently being sought for in collaboration with the JGH Foundation to secure recruitment for the next 5 years.
  • In parallel, industry partnerships as a consortium are presently getting envisioned to fund more extensive phenotyping, i.e., continuous glucose monitoring, liver FibroScan, plasma proteomics and metabolomics, possibly brain MRI, coupled with whole exome/genome sequencing.
  • Once data and genomics are available, we are confident in the BioPortal’s ability to attract both industry and academic interest, based on our market research.
  • Future revenue will be generated from the use of these data and genomics, and from our capacity to perform clinical trials on our patients.
