Provide essential training in key aspects of a liberal arts degree: how to absorb complex information, select evidence, and articulate your own ideas.
A discussion-based (seminar) course (capped at 25 students) centered on an active research question in a core liberal arts discipline. In this iteration of the FYPP, there are eight seminars for you to choose from.
Your Foundation Year consists of courses spread across both the Fall and Winter terms. You’ll enrol in one Complex Issues course per term, along with either a Foundation Year Seminar or a Writing course in the Fall term (and then the reverse for the Winter term). You’ll also have the freedom to register for your choice of Complementary courses (as per the approved list of courses), for both terms. Rounding things out will be free electives, which you can select from anything on offer (can be prerequisite courses for academic programs, or general electives).
