In June 2022, the Grierson Research Group hosted an international colloquium on the theme Media Rurality. Initial publications arising from the event are beginning to appear in series on Heliotrope, the journal of the Environmental Media Lab (edited by Tessa Brown and Mél Hogan at the University of Calgary). The series, which runs from February-April, will feature seven contributions from participants in the Media Rurality event, with articles released every other Wednesday. Three excellent pieces are already up - from Laura Pannekoek (Concordia) with Paul Nadeau (Guelph), Laticia Chapman (Alberta), and Darin Barney (McGill). Additional pieces by Assatu Wisseh (UC Santa Barbara), Burç Kostem (McGill), Helen Hayes (McGill), and Patrick Bresnihan (Maynooth) & Patrick Brodie (UC Dublin) will follow in the coming weeks.
