Technological innovation plays a crucial role in energy transition strategies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to equitable and environmentally responsible energy systems. This Engage seminar seeks to draw upon the expertise of McISCE researchers to support informed public discussion on a selection of emerging energy storage and conversion technologies that could contribute to achieving a global energy transition.

What are the most promising emerging energy transition technologies? What are their current limits and future potential? What is the current state of research in this area, and what remains to be discovered or designed? How can we optimize the design and development of transition technologies for desirable environmental and social outcomes? How do we move beyond hype to hope in our public conversations about emerging energy technologies?
