Tessa Wallace

I am an undergraduate student in neuroscience at McGill University, and I am doing a summer research project in Suzanne King’s lab. I am investigating the relationship between stress experienced by pregnant mothers during the 1998 Quebec ice storm and psychotic like experiences in their children at 11 ½ years old. I will also be investigating the relationship between subjective prenatal stress and psychotic like experiences in a group of adult community controls.

I have been interested in mental illness and the causes of psychotic disorders since starting at McGill, and I have had the opportunity to study the genetics of mental illness in another lab in Toronto. I have also worked in one lab studying invertebrate behaviour and another studying autoimmune disease. I am excited to learn more about prenatal stress and psychosis while working in Suzanne King's lab.
