Creating a Circular Economy at McGill - Climate & Sustainability Roadshow

Thursday, January 28, 2021 12:00to12:45

Sustainability is a multifaceted concept. From the environment to the economy, everyone has a role to play in building a sustainable society for all.

Join the McGill Office of Sustainability and campus partners for the Climate & Sustainability Roadshow, a series of three webinars that will dive deep into the three pillars of sustainability--economic, environment, and social.

How can we embed notions of circular economy throughout McGill’s operations?

In this 45-minute talk, Kendra Pomerantz (Sustainability Supervisor, Buildings and Grounds), Stephanie Leclerc (Sustainable Procurement Program Manager), Erin Wen and Mathilde Ensminger (MealCare) will discuss the steps we can take to bring McGill closer to closing the loop on our circular economy. Learn about the concepts behind a closed-loop system, how McGill is addressing waste and consumptions from both ends, and how students are innovating new solutions to old problems.

This session will highlight the Waste Management, Procurement, and Food Systems categories of the McGill University Climate & Sustainability Strategy, and the zero-waste long-term target.

The webinars will be hosted live on YouTube. Submit your questions live or to sustainability [at] mcgill.ca

This event will be hosted in English.
