Mission Statement:

Our goal with this Race | Space blog is to begin raising consciousness on the issues of systemic racism that exist in our institutions and our profession; and to learn how to engage in anti-racist practices as students, teachers, professionals and citizens. We understand that reading alone isn’t enough, however, we acknowledge that (re-)education is the first step toward positive change. The outcome of each discussion will include actionable steps that can be taken as a response to the issues addressed.

The Race | Space blog is made possible through the generous contributions of The Canada Research Chair in Architectures of Spatial Justice, The Research Group on Democracy, Space, and Technology (RGDST) of the Yan P. Lin Centre, The Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture, and McGill Graduate Architecture Students’ Association. These partnerships make the blog’s research and its dissemination possible. Further, the participation and efforts of students and colleagues are central to this platform.
