Shaping the Future of Health Professions Education: Defining Educator Capability Together

This interactive workshop examines the changing global landscape of health professions education and the implications for educator development. Drawing on AMEE’s conference and community data, it explores the emergence of the educator workforce and introduces a flexible capability framework designed to support diverse roles and career pathways. Participants will contribute to discussing the domains, developmental levels, and practical applications of the framework across individuals and institutions.

Anne Lloyd is Chief Executive Officer of AMEE: The International Association for Health Professions Education, where she leads the organisation’s strategic development, global growth, and overall performance in close partnership with the AMEE Governing Committee. Prior to joining AMEE, she worked with the European Society for Medical Oncology, leading digital education initiatives. Originally trained as an organic chemist with a PhD in the discipline, Anne spent more than 25 years with Elsevier Ltd, culminating in a decade as Global Publishing Director within the Health Sciences Division, with particular responsibility for the oncology portfolio. She has also served as a Charity Trustee for over 10 years and currently sits on the Board of Breast Cancer UK.
