I am an immunologist studying fundamentals of T cell function from a population biology perspective. I am interested in the spatio-temporal dynamics of T cell responses: how the interactions that T cells make, in the tissues within which these interactions take place, informs their dynamic behavior and hence their function; how the function of T cells is impacted when their migratory behavior or interactions with other cells is interrupted. My lab uses a combination of quantitative tools and intravital microscopy in settings of infection or during steady-state to connect individual cell behavior with the function of T cell populations at the whole-organism level.
