Praveen

Praveen Kumar Elango

Praveen Kumar Elango is an internationally trained dentist currently working as a Research Coordinator for the Migrant Oral Health Project. He previously worked as the Coordinator for the McGill Carrageenan Mouthwash Trial and holds a Master’s degree in Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences from McGill University. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at Bharath University, India. Early in his career, Praveen organized several oral health awareness and oral cancer prevention camps in rural regions of South India, reflecting his strong commitment to community outreach and preventive care. His professional interests include clinical dentistry, oral health disparities, and oral cancer prevention, and he is passionate about advancing oral health equity for migrant and underserved populations.

Olawale

 

Olawale Dudubo

Olawale Dudubo is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at McGill University. His research interests center around oral health policy research, oral health disparities, children's rights to oral health, and use of qualitative methodology in population oral health research. He is also a member of VOICE (Views on Interdisciplinary Childhood Ethics), an interdisciplinary research team promoting the recognition of moral experience and agency of young people. His doctoral project is embedded in the Migrant Oral Health Project (MOHP) aimed to improve the oral health of refugees in Canada.

Rwaida

Rwaida Akra

Dr. Rwaida Akra is a dedicated dental professional with a Master’s Degree in Pediatric Dentistry from Université Saint Joseph in Beirut and extensive international experience across Lebanon, Kuwait, Belgium, France and Canada. Currently based in Montréal, she is engaged in research work at McGill University. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Dr. Akra combines strong clinical expertise with a passion for oral health, preventive care, and community service. She has volunteered extensively to provide dental care and education to underprivileged and special-needs populations. Known for her empathy, professionalism, and leadership, she strives to promote healthy smiles and compassionate care for every patient
