At the Office of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, we envision that all graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences should be in a supportive training environment that challenges them to achieve their potential and prepares them for future academic and non-academic careers.
To this end, we have compiled the resources in this section; events and services across McGill to support the health and wellness of graduate trainees and postdoctoral fellows.
Your Health & Wellness Resources
McGill offers a wide variety of services to support student success and well-being through its Student Wellness Hub. The Student Wellness Hub can help you build and strengthen your wellness toolkit through workshops, therapy groups, self-directed care resources, and a variety of health promotion tools and services.
Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Local Wellness Advisor
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has a dedicated Local Wellness Advisor (LWA).
LWAs are trained mental health clinicians and provide quality wellness outreach and programming to help with the transition to university life, stress, anxiety, and best practices for maintaining a healthy student experience.
Our LWA facilitates wellness programming tailored to our Faculty and community, and works with our departments on wellness best practices and early intervention of stress management. Students benefit from targeted mental health workshops and outreach as well as one-on-one appointments.
