From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

History and Philosophy of Science

Welcome to History and Philosophy of Science!

History and Philosophy of Science at McGill is an interdisciplinary program that aims to provide students with an understanding of science through the study of both its historical development and some of the fundamental philosophical principles upon which it rests.

Programs

History and Philosophy of Science offers a Minor Concentration. Students complete 18 credits of complementary courses with a maximum of 9 credits at the 200 level from two groups: History of Science and Philosophy of Science.
