McGill Classics Play Presents: Euripides' Cyclops

Wednesday, February 6, 2019 19:30toSaturday, February 9, 2019 19:30
Theatre Sainte Catherine, 264 Ste. Catherine Est, Montreal, QC, H2X 1L4, CA

Translated/adapted and directed by Neha Rahman and Daniel Whittle, this is antiquity's only complete surviving satyr play! These were short dramas that took place after trilogies of tragedies. This particular play centers on the story of the hero Odysseus who has by chance landed on the island of Etna – home to a dangerous, man eating monster known as the Cyclops. Before he encounters this foe, however, he is met by a band of rambunctious half-human half-goat creatures known as satyrs. Will they help or hinder Odysseus and his friends as they make their way home? One thing is for sure, they are going to make the situation just a bit more hairy!

Tickets ($10 for students and $15 for general admission) are available in advance through the link below, and will also be available to purchase in person January 30th in Leacock lobby.
