Image Caption:
Cottonwood is the source of early summer ‘snowstorms’ of fluffy fruits. They are almost always found growing close to water, and get to be an enormous size. The bark is grey and is very deeply grooved and ridged in a long vertical pattern. The leaves are roughly triangular shaped, like the Greek letter delta.
