There are several species of serviceberry that are native to Quebec, and many of them are planted as ornamental trees; their blossoms are similar to crab apples and cherries, which are all also in the rose family. Amelanchier fruits are similar in shape to a tiny apple, most species have fruits that are soft and juicy like a blueberry, these are a favourite of many birds. Although the fruits are edible for people too, usually birds eat them all before you will get a change to pick any! They are all small trees.
