Image Caption:
Sumac is a small, fuzzy textured tree that forms large colonies. The plants are either male or female—you could tell by the presence of their fruits, which are only on the female trees. Another species of sumac, which grows in the middle east, is used for flavouring, and staghorn sumac has a similar bright, lemony flavour, which comes from the hairs on the dry little red fruits that are borne together in large clusters. Staghorn sumac is often seen growing in old fields and along road edges, as it only grows in sunny places.
