Image Caption:
Red maple gets its name from its crimson fall foliage, buds, twigs, young fruits and flowers. It can also be tapped, although the sugar concentration is lower than that of sugar maple. Red maple is a common tree in the Montréal region, growing on a wide range of sites from flood plains to dry, upland forests. Its native geographic range is also expansive: it occurs from Florida to Newfoundland.
