Jaroslav F Prchal

Dr. Jaroslav Prchal is an oncologist/hematologist at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal, Canada, and an associate professor of oncology and medicine at McGill University in Montreal, with a clinical interest in polycythemia and myeloproliferative disorders. He is the medical director of the Cancer Care Program at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Dr. Prchal was born in Czechoslovakia and in 1964 received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Charles University in Prague. Since that time, he has been hard at work in research and medicine, with a focus on myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Among his many achievements in providing care and advancement to the MPN community, he co-founded the MPN Clinic in the Segal Cancer Centre at Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital and has acted as clinical lead of the Rossy Cancer Network, with a focus on developing focused tumor boards to improve patient care and outcomes.
