Technology Research

The GeriTech Innovation Research Laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research to develop, evaluate, and implement digital health technologies that enhance the well‑being, independence, and care experiences of older adults. Our work spans virtual and augmented reality, AI‑driven applications, telemedicine platforms, wearables, and social robotics, with studies conducted across community, and the care continuum (acute care, surgery, primary care, and long‑term care). Based at St. Mary’s Research Centre and McGill University, the lab integrates clinical research with strong industry and community partnerships to design ethical, inclusive, and person‑centered innovations for older adults. Through randomized trials, mixed‑methods studies, and collaborative digital health projects, G.I.R.L. provides opportunities for students to engage in hands‑on research, contribute to emerging evidence, and work directly with innovative technologies.
