Current research:
I am broadly interested in the natural environment, its relationship with people, and the ways in which organizational and governance structures emerge and evolve to shape decision-making and outcomes. My doctoral research focuses on developing a transferable participatory resource management framework through a comparative case study of horticultural peat extraction in Canada and sand mining in Kenya. I explore how inclusive, locally grounded governance strategies take shape, adapt, and function under different socio-ecological conditions, and how these systems navigate benefits and trade-offs.
