French for Professional Communication

The French for professional communication courses (FRPC) are designed to enable you to gain the confidence to work in French in the Quebec professional context and accelerate your professional integration.

Beginner and Elementary Levels – A1/A1+/A2

FRPC 102 – A1

  • Course title: Basic French
  • 3 credits - 1 X 3-hour class per week (evenings OR Saturdays)
  • Term: Fall, Winter and Summer
  • Level: Beginner
  • Prerequisite: Placement test or Permission of the Director.

Description:

You have little or no knowledge of French? This course will help you learn the basics of French, both spoken and written.

You will learn to develop basic linguistic and communicative skills required to operate in simple day-to-day situations.


 

FRPC 104 – A1+

You have advanced knowledge of French? This course will help you acquire competency in reading and writing at this level.

You will learn to focus on French communication through the study of vocabulary and its function in discourse and identify the nature and role of words, phrases and idioms through the study of semantics and practice.

You will learn to develop oral and written skills necessary for efficient communication in persuasive and argumentative situations, for the convincing transmission of complex ideas.
