To help researchers develop strong data stewardship practices, D2R has created a customized Data Management Plan (DMP) template aligned with its research priorities and compliance standards. This template supports both genomic and RNA-focused research, and can be used in biomedical, and experimental contexts, including interdisciplinary projects.
You have two options to complete your DMP:
Option 1 – Use the DMP Assistant Portal (recommended)
The DMP Assistant is a free online tool provided by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada. A D2R-specific template is available through the McGill instance of the platform.
To access the template:
- Go to https://assistant.portagenetwork.ca
- Sign in or create an account, and select "McGill University" as your organization.
- Click “Create Plan”, enter your project title and details.
- In the third drop-down menu, choose:
"McGill and D2R" to load the D2R-aligned template.
You can then complete your DMP online and submit it to through the portal.
Option 2 – Download and complete offline
If you prefer working offline, you can download the fillable D2R DMP template (Word format). Once completed, send your DMP to D2R.ds [at] mcgill.ca for review and record-keeping.
For questions or help completing your DMP, you can book a consultation with the D2R-HeDS team. We're here to support you.
