Fuzzy logic

Fuzzy set theory is the process by which qualitative reasoning can be simulated on computers, thus allowing generalized rules to be formed for decision support. In our research, the vague decision making, often involved in culling cows on a farm, has been transformed, via expert input, into a fuzzy decision-support system for ranking animals in the herd.
